Receipt of Post at our Southampton Bed and Breakfast
We may in our absolute discretion permit the delivery of a guest's private post to Amberley Lodge Guest House. The receipt of private post will be subject to such requirements and administration charges as we may, from time to time, stipulate. Any permission given by our B&B may be revoked by us at any time and without reason. We shall in any event have no liability to you or any third party for any post that may, for whatsoever reason, fail to reach you notwithstanding that the same may be shown to have been delivered to Amberley Lodge Guest House, our Southampton B&B.
Food on Premises at our Southampton Bed and Breakfast
For reasons of cleanliness and hygiene, at our B&B we do not permit the eating of meals in guest's rooms or anywhere else within the building and its boundaries. We may in our discretion permit guests to use the dining room of our Southampton Bed and Breakfast in the evening to eat food purchased by themselves and brought back to the premises. This will be subject to guests using cutlery and dishes provided by our B&B and tidying up after themselves using a rubbish bin provided. At our B&B we are happy to wash up the dishes for you. In our discretion, guests may at their sole risk, use the communal microwave and fridge located in the dining room of our Bed and Breakfast.
Liability
Your liability to us:
DUE TO RECENT BAD EXPERIENCES OUR POLICY HAS NOW CHANGED AS FOLLOWS:
Payment
-The first night of your stay will be taken when you book.
- balance of payment is due on the day of your arrival at our B&B in respect of the period of your stay.
-If you stay one night only the full payment will be taken when you book
In the event that you or those staying with you at our Bed and Breakfast or for whom you are responsible, cause damage to any part of the building at our B&B, your room or any facilities serving either, you will be charged the full cost of repairing and making good (or if such is not possible, replacing with new) the item or items damaged. If you become aware of any damage casused at our B&B, we strongly recommend that you advise us of the same as soon as reasonably possible since this will enable us to discuss with you how best to resolve the difficulty.
Our liability to you:
The goal at our Southampton Bed and Breakfast is to provide you with good quality, clean accommodation, accompanied by a hearty breakfast, all of which represents "value for money".
Except in case of any death or personal injury suffered by a guest staying at our B&B as a result of our negligence as defined in Section 1 of the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977, we shall not incur any liability of any kind or nature whether in contract or tort or otherwise howsoever caused for any damage, loss, liability or expenses suffered or incurred by our guests or any other person arising directly indirectly or in any manner whatsoever out of the goods, services or facilities provided by us.
In any event, and notwithstanding anything contained in these Terms and Conditions our liability in contract, tort (including negligence or breach of statutory duty) or otherwise arising by reason of or in connection with the goods or services provided by us (except in relation to death or personal injury caused to a guest by our negligence) shall be limited to a refund equal to the room rate x the number of nights stayed at our B&B or long term accomodation in one single continuous stay.
No Smoking policy at our Southampton Bed and Breakfast
For reasons of health and safety, at Amberley Lodge Guest House, our Southampton Bed and Breakfast we have a strict no-smoking policy on any part of the premises. Persons wishing to smoke may do so outside our B&B in such location as we might designate.
Payment after your stay at our Southampton Bed and Breakfast
At the end of your stay at our B&B, we accept payment by any one of the following methods:
- cash
- credit/debit card - mastercard, visa, electron, solo
- switch
Please note that 2% will be added to your credit card payments to compensate for the commission charged by the credit card companies to us.
Any deposit previously paid will, subject to any Liability you may have to our B&B (see above), be offset against the final amount of your account.
Pets policy at our Southampton Bed and Breakfast
The facilities at Amberley Lodge B&B are not suitable for pets and therefore, save only in the case of any guest who is a registered blind person accompanied by a trained guide dog, pets cannot be accepted.
Safety policy at our Southampton Bed and Breakfast
At our B&B in Southampton we are committed to your safety. Fire alarms and hard wired smoke detectors and clearly marked fire exits are to be found in each corridor and room. The emergency lighting are also in place In case of fire, please sound the alarm if it is safe to do so only and use the nearest fire exit. All persons exiting the building should gather at the assembly point at the front of the building. Tampering in any way with any safety feature will be treated as a fundamental breach of these terms and conditions entitling our B&B to request that you vacate your room immediately and without compensation from us.
Jurisdiction and Applicable law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and each party agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts with regard to any claim or matter arising in connection with the same
Privacy Statement
Amberley Lodge Guest House, our Southampton Bed and Breakfast, is managed and run by Amberley Lodge Limited (Company Registration No' 3986840). It is a family business, the directors being Peter and Eliana Welburn. The Registered office is 1 Howard Road, Southampton, SO15 5BB.
This privacy statement should be read in conjunction with our B&B Terms and Conditions.

The purpose of this statement is to explain what information we collect at our B&B about you, why we collect it and how we may use it.

You have a right to know what data our Southampton B&B hold about you. For details please send a stamped addressed envelope together with your remittance in the sum of £10.00 to cover our administrative expenses. To ensure that your details are not sent to an unauthorised person, when requesting your details please send to our Southampton B&B the original of a utility bill (eg: telephone, gas, electricity) bearing your home address. This will be returned to you along with your details.
Opt Out From our Southampton Bed and Breakfast Privacy Policy
You may, at any time by notice in writing to our Southampton B&B request that we delete all data in our possession concerning yourself and/or that we do not use any such data for future marketing purposes. Our B&B will as soon as reasonably possible comply with such a request and all data (save any that may be properly required to be retained by law) will be deleted.
What information do we collect At our Southampton Bed and Breakfast?
At our Southampton B&B we may collect two basic types of information:
